Rutherford Regional Health System was founded in 1905 and is licensed for 143 private, acute-care beds. RRHS offers convenient, accessible healthcare, with offices and services in Rutherfordton, Spindale, Forest City, Mooresboro, Caroleen and Boiling Springs (Cleveland County), We’re a four-time recipient of the Thompson Reuters Top 100 Performance Improvement Leader designation, which is given to hospitals that demonstrate high value and excellent quality care. Employing around 800 professional and clinical staff, RRHS has over 120 qualified physicians and more than 23 medical specialties. Major services include family care and pediatrics, orthopedics, general surgery services, women’s services, a cancer program, urology, rehabilitation, imaging, home care, outpatient surgery and services, behavioral health, and emergency care. The hospital also provides telehealth services – first offered for for stroke patients, and recently expanded to offer genetic counseling for cancer patients as well. Emergency and outpatient visits total a combined 80,000 annually and inpatient stays average 5,500 per year.
