Excellent opportunity to join a well-established employed group of four Board-Certifed OB/GYN's and three Certified Nurse Midwives in Christiansburg, Virginia. Carilion New River Valley Medical Center is a 146-bed acute-care medical center with excellent support staff and a medical staff of 280 physicians, representing a broad range of specialists, and a Level II Nursery. The practice averages 90 deliveries and 20-25 non-obstetrical surgeries per month. Call 1:5 or better.
Ground and air transportation is also available to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with Level III Nursery and 60-bed NICU, located in Roanoke, VA.
The practice has a strong partnership with the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Blacksburg, where all of the physicians are adjunct faculty. Opportunities are also available for physicians interested in research and partnership with the new Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
Virginia's New River Valley region comprises the localities of Radford, Christiansburg, Blacksburg and small surrounding towns, with a total population of 185,000. Requirements for this position include: MD/DO, Completion of ACGME/AOA-approved OB/GYN Residency program, Eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Active DEA. Position does not qualify for waiver of J-1 Visa. Candidates must meet these requirements and provide a copy of their CV with references and a cover letter outlining interests.
