Logan Regional Medical Center serves Logan and the surrounding area with a full range of inpatient and outpatient services at its 140-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care facility and physician practices.

The city of Logan is alive with special events throughout the year, including live outdoor dramas in summer at the Liz Spurlock Amphitheater in Chief Logan State Park, a Civil War reenactment each September and the Shawnee Trail Encampment in October, featuring daily frontier living, exhibits by artisans and craftsmen and “Buckskinners” portraying characters from the late 18th century. During the holiday season, Chief Logan State Park becomes a winter wonderland, with a beautiful light display. Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College offers two-year associate degrees, in addition to certificates in more than 20 technical and occupational career fields
