Payson City is located in the southern part of the Utah Valley at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. Payson is known as both an agricultural and residential community and has some of the best views of Utah Valley and Utah Lake. Nestled against the foothills of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, Payson was originally named after the Ute Indian Chief Peteetneet (meaning “little waters”). The name was later changed to Payson in honor of its first founder, James Pace.
