Job Summary:

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our team in our main Emergency Department in Fort Pierce and free-standing Emergency Department in Vero Beach.

Qualified Candidates

  • Must be board certified or board eligible thru the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM)
  • Must have Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Must have completed an EM Residency and Board Certified within 5 years
  • Covers Vero Beach FSED 2-3 times a month mixed in with schedule at main ED

  • Level II Trauma Center
  • 61,000 annual patient visits in Main ED and 16,000 in Peds ED
  • 42-bed ED including 5 fast track plus 5 monitored beds
  • 3 trauma bays, including 1 pediatric
  • 2.0 pph
  • 70 hours total of physician coverage (main ED and Peds ED incl)
  • 60 hours of APP coverage
  • 26% admission rate
  • Comprehensive Stroke facility with bi-plane
  • Interventional cardiac cath
  • Code ice facility with therapeutic hypothermia capability
  • Several dedicated ED glide scopes and ultrasound
  • 24-hour inhouse Hospitalist and Intensivists
  • No floor code or consult responsibilities

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 497-bed acute care teaching hospital providing a full range of specialty services, including advanced cardiology, emergency medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, surgery and is home to the most experienced heart institute on the Treasure Coast. Medical Residency Programs in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and adding Emergency Medicine in 2025.
