**Chair of Pathology Opening in Burlington, MA**

Seeking an AP/CP board certified pathologist, who is qualified to obtain a medical license in Massachusetts, to serve as Department Chair.
* Fellowship training and experience in a subspecialty area of surgical pathology, such as gastrointestinal and liver pathology, breast, or gynecologic pathology is desired.
* At least five years of medical practice with demonstrated leadership qualities, including good communication skills, and a collaborative approach, are required.
* Clinical responsibilities include sign-out of general surgical biopsies and resections as well as participating in frozen section, cytology and on-call services in addition to oversight of general clinical pathology needs.
* Administrative responsibilities include physician recruitment and development, achieving departmental quality, financial, and patient satisfaction goals, developing new initiatives, effectively managing resource allocation within the department, and optimizing departmental operations.
* Participation in daily clinical activities is expected.
* Protected time will be provided for administrative functions.
Hospital processes approximately 15,000 surgical and non-gynecologic cytology specimens per year. Clinical pathology provides on-site services in clinical chemistry, hematology/coagulation and transfusion medicine.
