About the Position:
- UPMC Central Pa has been accredited by the prestigious National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers since 2010
- Breast surgeons are encourage to become ultrasound certified and engage in oncoplastic surgery, including training and education in Hidden Scar surgery; UPMC Central Pa is one of just three Centers of Excellence for Hidden Scar surgery in the state of Pennsylvania.
- UPMC Central Pa, with its focus on quality and patient satisfaction, has dominant market share in breast cancer care.
- UPMC breast care team is comprised of physicians who have trained at the nation's best cancer programs.
- Comprehensive program includes a multidisciplinary team approach, including breast dedicated medical oncologists, nurse navigators and close collaboration with medical and radiation oncologists.
- Wide range of support services includes genetic counseling, nurse navigators, support groups, social work, nutritional counseling, oncology rehab and lymphedema services, spiritual care, integrative service, medical micro pigmentation, survivorship program, breast and eyebrow tattooing, and Paxman Scalp Cooling System.
Professional Skills:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery with a fellowship or extensive training and experience in breast surgery. Looking for applicants with a minimum of 3 years of breast surgery experience.
- Ultrasound guided biopsy experience preferred.
