**Psychiatry opening in New York**
- Located in Oswego, NY - 35 miles to Syracuse, NY
- Mental Health & Wellness department is seeking a Medical Director.
Requirements:
- Board certified/Board eligible
- Minimum of 5-years clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry required
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role
- A strong understanding of evidence-based psychiatric practices and treatment modalities
- Be a forward thinker and able to introduce innovative treatment modalities and stay abreast of emerging trends in psychiatry
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership for both inpatient and outpatient mental health programs
- Supervise psychiatrists and APPs in a 50% clinical and 50% administrative role
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the quality and scope of mental health services.
- Contribute to the development, execution and evaluation of organizational mental health policies, procedures, expansion and improvement.
- Complete necessary legal procedures for interventions such as treatment over objection and court retention.
- Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements and collaborate with the compliance team to address any regulatory concerns.
- Support the ACT Team and outpatient clinics by assisting with clinical assessments and medication management as needed and act as a clinical resource for social workers, therapists, and other mental health professionals.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of mental health services through data analysis and performance metrics.
- Support psychiatric consults for ED, ICU, and Med/Surg unit as necessary.
- Facilitate rounds/discharge planning for inpatient unit.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support inpatient unit, as well as emergency department as assigned.
