Job Description

Lead a high-performing emergency medicine (EM) team at one of Texas' premier trauma centers! Del Sol Medical Center - East is seeking a dynamic and experienced facility medical director (FMD) to guide its emergency medicine team in delivering exceptional care. This full-time role offers a unique blend of leadership and clinical practice at a state-of-the-art trauma center with exciting growth opportunities.

About Del Sol Medical Center - East:
  • Level II Trauma Center with an Intermediate Care (IC) designation
  • Part of HCA Healthcare's robust network
  • HCA Residency Program Association: IM residents rotate through the emergency department (ED)
  • Associated with freestanding emergency departments (FSEDs): Horizon and East
  • Hospital beds: 379
  • Located near University Medical Center, providing additional trauma support

Emergency Department Overview:
  • 34 ED beds in a well-designed layout to optimize patient flow
  • Annual ED volume of 60,000 patients, with 2.0 patients per hour with a 15% admission rate
  • 49 hours of EM physician coverage and 20 hours of APC coverage daily
  • Medium-to-high acuity levels
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): MediTech
  • Trauma services supported by a helipad for rapid transfers
