Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated General Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our esteemed outpatient practice, specializing in providing exceptional eye care services to our diverse patient base. In this role, you will diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of ophthalmic conditions, leveraging advanced testing equipment such as visual field analyzers, corneal topography systems, fundus cameras for retinal imaging, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for detailed cross-sectional imaging, auto refractors for precise refraction measurements, and A-scan biometry for intraocular lens calculations. Your expertise and commitment to patient-centered care will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards of clinical excellence.Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assessments using advanced diagnostic equipment to evaluate visual acuity, refractive errors, and intraocular pressure.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and corneal disorders.
- Perform surgical interventions, including cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation, utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and equipment.
- Administer injections and other minor procedures as needed for the treatment of retinal diseases, such as intravitreal injections.
- Educate patients about their eye health, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate closely with optometrists, other ophthalmologists, and healthcare providers to optimize patient care plans and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and clinic protocols.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of residency training in Ophthalmology and board certification or eligibility.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Proven experience in providing comprehensive ophthalmic care in an outpatient setting.
- Proficiency in performing cataract surgeries and other ophthalmic procedures.
- Strong clinical judgment, decision-making abilities, and surgical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty area of Ophthalmology (e.g., Retina, Cornea, Glaucoma).
- Experience with advanced surgical techniques and technologies.
- Active involvement in professional societies and organizations related to Ophthalmology.
