The Child Abuse Resource and Education (CARE) Program at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, affiliated with the University of Texas at Austin’s Dell Medical School, is seeking a BC/BE Child Abuse Pediatrician to join us.
Position Details:
- Team includes full-time child abuse pediatrician, part-time hospitalist, 2 advanced practice providers, 2 social workers, a SANE coordinator, nurse program manager, and program analyst
- Provide medical evaluations in the hospital and two outpatient clinics, one of which is affiliated with the Center for Child Protection, the Travis County Child Advocacy Center
- Responsible for the evaluation of children and adolescents for whom there is a concern of child abuse/neglect with both in-person and case consultation and review services
- Provides court testimony when needed
- Support health system and community medical providers
- Actively participates in local multidisciplinary team
- Supervision of APP’s clinical work
- Provide education to medical students, residents, fellows and multidisciplinary partners
- Call responsibilities are split equally amongst physicians and APPs
This position includes institutional opportunities and support for teaching, research, and/or advocacy and can be shaped around the candidate’s interests/career path. Faculty appointment to Dell Medical School at the University of Texas is required.
Required candidate qualifications:
- Physician MD/DO with Texas medical license or license eligible
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Child Abuse Pediatrics
- Excellent clinical expertise
- Strong educational and collaborative skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred candidate qualifications:
- Completion of a 3 year ACGME accredited fellowship program in child abuse pediatrics
