In this key role, the Facility Medical Director is responsible for the oversight and management of all clinical operations including staffing and utilization of fulltime and premium contingent labor, compliance with protocols and practice standards as well as managing the relationships between Anesthesia and the Hospital’s MSO, Surgical Services and C-Suite/Administration. They will work in partnership with the facility’s Director of Physician Services, the Assistant Vice President of Operations and with the Division Medical Director in their market.
The ideal candidate will be a highly effective communicator- one that is comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and able to successfully partner with facility leadership and ancillary departments. This individual will also have a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards and value Practice stability and retaining our talented team members.

HCA Healthcare Anesthesia Services is seeking an experienced, Board Certified Anesthesiologist to lead our team at HCA Florida South Shore located minutes from beautiful Apollo Beach just south of Tampa.In this key role, the Facility Medical Director is responsible for the oversight and management of all clinical operations including staffing and utilization of fulltime and premium contingent labor, compliance with protocols and practice standards as well as managing the relationships between Anesthesia and the Hospital’s MSO, Surgical Services and C-Suite/Administration. Highlights of Opportunity/Qualified Candidates:
- Care Team Model of 4 physicians, 4 CRNAs covering 4 ORs plus 2 NORA sites
- Diverse mix of cases including heavy Ortho, Endo, Neuro, Gastro, Bariatrics.
- No heads, no hearts, no pediatrics, no OB.
- Must be Block proficient.
- Average surgical volume of 3600 cases annually.
- 2 Physicians on during the day. Supervision model and/or doing own case(s) as needed.
- 4 Physician team works a 4 week rotation. Schedule as follows:
- Week 1: 7a-5p, Mon – Fri only
- Week 2: 7a-5p, Mon – Fri only
- Week 3: Mon – Fri, come in at 3p to finish late cases followed by call from home until 7a. Weekend call is from home Fri 7p to Mon 7a. Emergent cases only on weekends. 30-minute response time.
- Week 4: SCHEDULED OFF. Return to day shift following week off.
- Facility Medical Director Leadership Stipend
- Start date bonus and relocation assistance available.
- Additional compensation if Physician opts to pick up extra call from home, 7p-7a
- $5,000 in CME annually
