**Neurology Opening in Berlin, NH**
-Full Time & Permanent Position.
**Responsibilities**
-Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) board certified neurologist.
-Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (adolescents age 16 and older as well as adults), including medication management, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally, referral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCPs.
*Most commonly diagnoses encountered are:
-Migraine
-Memory loss
-Essential tremor
-Parkinsons disease
-Cognitive impairment
-Dizziness
-Epilepsy
-Multiple sclerosis
-Polyneuropathy
-Headache
**Experience required**
-Prefer candidates have prior experience (at least 2-5 years) in broad spectrum of general neurology.
-Selected new graduates from residency or fellowship training may be eligible.
-Prior experience in a small hospital or CAH desired.
-Must be comfortable with rural nature of practice/hospital, only one neurology colleague, solo coverage, and AVHs complement of specialists and diagnostic testing capacity.
-Special clinical interests/expertise to complement those of current neurologist and expand scope of services to our region. For example, clinical interests/expertise in one or more of the following: headaches, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, extrapyramidal syndrome, stroke, epilepsy, dementia, and EEGs.
-Ability to interpret EEG studies desirable but not required.
-Does not need ability to perform or interpret NCS/EMG studies. Based on Dr. Starrs expertise in this area and capacity to perform and interpret more NCS/EMGs as ordered by a second neurologist, AVH would prefer new neurologist does not have/need to utilize such skills.
-Ability to perform Botox injections desirable but not required.
-Team oriented, collaborative, and patient focused. High level of customer service (patient satisfaction) is expected.
-H1-B and J-1 visa candidates will be considered if excellent communication skills.
**Compensation & Benefits:**
-Vacation, 5 weeks per year.
-5 sick days, 6 holidays aper year.
-CME, 2 weeks per year, plus $4,000 CME funds.
-Base salary $300,278 for 0.89 FTE, PLUS:
-Relocation funds/reimbursement.
-Insurances: health, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, life.
-Retirement plans.
-Professional liability coverage with tail.
