Orthopedic Surgery opening in Carson City, NV
- Full-time, permanent position
**Physician Role:**
Physicians have a dotted line reporting relationship structure between clinic management and physician leadership, including the Physician Clinic Chief, Physician Medical Director, Physician Executive Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer. The Physician provides patient care in accordance with the medical standards specific to their specialty. As a member of the medical group, the Physician offers collaborative care within the community by navigating patients through the healthcare system. The Physician is seen as a leader within the team structure established in the clinic setting.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide professional medical services within the standard of care in the specific specialty.
- Order appropriate laboratory tests, radiology tests, and prescribe pharmaceuticals.
- Analyze test results and provide treatments for follow-up care as needed.
- Initiate and facilitate patient referrals to other physicians, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
- Ensure all medical documentation, orders, and prescriptions go through the electronic health record (EHR).
- Perform procedures consistent with standard care in the specialty.
- Complete documentation and sign off on patient charts within two business days.
- Respond to patient portal messages within two business days.
- Participate in meetings during non-patient contact hours as requested by administration.
- Participate in clinic and hospital call as agreed upon by administration and other clinic providers.
- Find coverage for working personal in-basket in the EHR when on leave.
- May supervise/collaborate with one or more Advanced Practice Clinicians.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications Required:**
- MD or DO degree from an accredited college.
- DEA licensure and Nevada controlled substance license.
- Board Certification or board eligible in the specific specialty.
- Active and unrestricted licensure to practice medicine within the State of Nevada.
- Medical staff privileges at Medical Center.
