Rutherford Regional Health System was founded in 1905 and is licensed for 143 private, acute-care beds. RRHS offers convenient, accessible healthcare, with offices and services in Rutherfordton, Spindale, Forest City, Mooresboro, Caroleen and Boiling Springs (Cleveland County), We’re a four-time recipient of the Thompson Reuters Top 100 Performance Improvement Leader designation, which is given to hospitals that demonstrate high value and excellent quality care. Major services include family care and pediatrics, orthopedics, general surgery services, women’s services, a cancer program, urology, rehabilitation, imaging, home care, outpatient surgery and services, behavioral health, and emergency care. The hospital also provides telehealth services – first offered for for stroke patients, and recently expanded to offer genetic counseling for cancer patients as well. Emergency and outpatient visits total a combined 80,000 annually and inpatient stays average 5,500 per year.

Rutherford Regional Health System is seeking a BC/BE Urologist! Join a well established practice conveniently located close to Rutherford Regional Health System in Rutherfordton, NC . The office operates Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm an OR time is in the morning followed by clinic time.

Community Information - Rutherfordton, NC

Rutherford Regional Health System is based in Rutherfordton, NC, one of three primary municipalities in Rutherford County along with nearby Forest City and Spindale. Rutherfordton is the county seat of Rutherford County, with a population of approximately 4,200. Established in 1787, Rutherfordton is one of the oldest towns in western North Carolina and is the longest-running continuous government in the region. This Revolutionary War-era town has managed to keep its old-time charm while keeping step with the 21st century, from the cluster of antebellum houses in the historic district at the north end of town to the fiber optic hub on the south end.

Downtown Rutherfordton is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a beautiful representation of rural western North Carolina small towns. Its ridgetop elevations offer stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and its location in the Isothermal Belt offers mild weather and outstanding beauty in four distinct seasons. The county also has been featured in blockbuster films such as Dirty Dancing and The Last of the Mohicans. Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are two of the most visited tourist destinations in North Carolina, and the county is located less than five hours from the Atlantic Ocean.

Rutherford County features a number of hiking, walking and cycling trails, as well as several scenic golf courses. Perhaps most popular, however, is the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area home to a lake with 27 miles of shoreline and Chimney Rock State Park.
