We are
seeking a skilled Locums Cardiology Physician to provide inpatient cardiology
services at a hospital in Torrington, CT. This role involves rounding on new
consultations and managing in-house patients, reading EKGs, echocardiograms,
and stress tests, as well as performing cardioversion and transesophageal
echocardiograms (TEE).
In this
position, the physician will provide inpatient cardiology care by rounding on
new consultations and existing in-house patients. Responsibilities include
interpreting and reading approximately 50-75 EKGs per day, reading an average
of 8 echocardiograms (Echo) per day, and conducting and interpreting 1-2 stress
tests as needed. The physician will also be expected to perform cardioversion
and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
The
physician will work closely with a physician assistant (PA) who will round with
the cardiologist daily and provide support. The cardiologist at the office will
be available by phone to assist if needed. The schedule is Monday to Friday,
approximately 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call requirements for nights or
weekends.
Requirements:
- Board
Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology.
- Active
Connecticut medical license.
- Proficiency in
reading EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
- Experience
performing cardioversion and TEE is preferred.
