Locums Anesthesia Physician

We are seeking a skilled Locums Anesthesia Physician to join our team in Belfast, ME. In this role, you will provide anesthesia services in a well-established healthcare facility, handling a variety of general surgical and obstetrical cases.  The regular schedule for this position is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The call schedule is flexible, with coverage required every third day. There are no trauma cases involved in this role.  The Locums Anesthesia Physician will be responsible for a range of anesthesia procedures, including general surgical cases for adults, minor nerve blocks, plexus anesthesia, epidural and spinal anesthesia, and regional anesthesia. Additional responsibilities include managing obstetrical cases and performing acute pain management procedures, such as the insertion of arterial lines. The physician will also evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues as needed. The average number of surgical cases per day is 14-16, including endoscopy procedures. All documentation will be managed using the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Qualifications:

·         Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or in the process of certification

·         Maine State License (willing to consider candidates needing to obtain a license)

·         ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are preferred
