Locums Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
We
are seeking a Locums Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our team in
Dothan, AL. The NNP will be responsible for providing care in the NICU and
newborn nursery, attending deliveries, managing NICU admissions, and responding
to OB requests. The position
involves working 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 24-hour shifts from
7:00 AM to 7:00 AM. A minimum of 5-7 shifts per month is required. Weekend
coverage is necessary, but there is no call requirement. The NNP will cover the NICU and newborn
nursery, handle admissions to the NICU, attend deliveries, and respond to OB
requests. The daily patient load is expected to be around 8-10 patients per
shift. The facility includes a NICU with 16
beds and a newborn nursery with 20 beds. The average daily census is 11.2
patients in the NICU and 9 in the well-baby nursery. The hospital handles
approximately 1,600 births and deliveries annually, with the average patient
age being a newborn.
