Locums Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a locum tenens position in Bridgeport, CT. This role involves providing high-quality care to pre- and post-cardiac surgery patients in collaboration with a team of cardiac surgeons.  The position requires a schedule of three 13-hour night shifts per week, including rotating weekends. The practice setting is primarily inpatient care, focused on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), and other inpatient units. The role involves providing comprehensive care to pre- and post-cardiac surgery patients, working closely with cardiac surgeons to develop and implement patient care plans. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, managing treatment plans, and monitoring the progress of patients recovering from cardiac surgery. The Nurse Practitioner will perform clinical rounds and provide critical care management in both the ICU and CVU settings. Additionally, the role includes participating in rotating weekend coverage as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

• Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Connecticut.
• Experience in cardiac surgery, cardiovascular care, or a related critical care field.
• Ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
