Goals of the Program
By the completion of the program, each APC will be proficient in:
- Basic procedures including, but not limited to: laceration repair, I&D, basic joint reductions, foreign body removal, etc.
- Stabilization and management of patients ESI level 2-5
- Performing rapid medical examinations and identifying emergent conditions
- Teamwork between APCs, supervising physicians, hospitalists and various specialists in the management of patients
- Efficiently dispositioning patients within goal LOS (<60 minutes) for all patients ESI level 4-5
