DeTar Healthcare System is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine Physician to join a private group at Port Lavaca Clinic, located only 2 hours from Houston, TX!
Position Details:
- New grads and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply
- Outpatient only (all ages – no OB)
- Practice call shared with Internists and Pediatrics
- Anticipated call frequency: once a month and twice every other month (Peds)
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus

DeTar Hospital Navarro, the larger of two sister hospitals totaling 330 licensed beds, serves as a regional referral center with comprehensive services. These include a 64-slice CT, DaVinci robotic equipment, and the area's first dedicated Women & Children's Center, Open Concept MRI, and Level III trauma designation.
Port Lavaca Clinic Associates is the largest clinic in the area, has been in business for more than 58 years and is a landmark within the community. Port Lavaca is a smaller community on the Gulf Coast with about 12,000 population, and the nearest larger community (Victoria) is about 25 miles north. Schools
In 2007, a 159 million dollar bond was passed to improve Victoria schools. Funds were allocated for 2 new high schools, 1 new middle school, 2 new elementary schools and a District Event Center. The is now the largest public school system in the Golden Crescent region with 15 elementary schools, three middle schools, a two-campus high school as well as a magnet high school, 103 total buildings, 14 athletic fields and more than 2,200 employees. Also in place within the VISD system are Magnet School programs, including a Montessori program, programs for gifted students, a campus at Devereau Foundation for those students with exceptional needs, one alternative program campus as well as a vocational education campus that offers classes in welding, computer networking, food management and production, cosmetology, auto repair and building trades.
