General Surgery Job In Oregon, Ohio
Locums General Surgery Physician
We are
seeking a Locums General Surgery Physician to provide 24/7 hospital-based
general surgery and Level 3 trauma center coverage at a community hospital in
Oregon, OH. This position offers round-the-clock coverage, including weekends,
with on-call responsibilities. The role involves providing general surgical
care for both adult and trauma patients, with an average of 10 surgical cases
per day.
The
hospital's emergency room has an annual volume of 27,000 patients, supported by
10 operating rooms. Surgeons will be responsible for performing procedures such
as central line insertion, PA catheter placement, chest tube insertion,
vascular access devices, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, as well as
appendectomies, bowel resections, and trauma care for perforations or
lacerations of internal organs. The call ratio ranges from 15 to 20 per 24-hour
shift, and the hospital utilizes Epic as its documentation system.
Requirements:
- Board Certified in General
Surgery
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications
required
- Active Ohio medical license
