- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate population in his/her assigned area
- Maintains required core competencies.
- Complies with set Policies and Procedures (i.e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking, etc.)
- Coordinates the processing of surgical instruments and equipment to ensure availability for use. Includes, but is not limited to, proper sorting, assembling, wrapping, sterilizations, and storage of single instruments, instrument sets, and equipment.
- Develops and/or maintains instrument inventory control systems including checklists for assembling trays.
- Follows established guidelines for care and maintenance of instruments. Maintains records of instruments needing repair or sharpening.
- Directs the work flow and work practices related to this position. Teaches routines to others assigned to this area.
- Prepares, and knows the specific uses of all equipment and supplies used for surgical procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to set appropriate priorities. Functions in an organized time-conscious manner.
- Does not abuse sick or personal days. Maintains personal health, adheres to sick policy guidelines.
- Demonstrates neatness, cleanliness, and grooming. Adheres to the Patient Services’ Dress Code.
