**Locums Gastroenterology Position in Richlands, Virginia** **Coverage** - Start: January 6, 2025 - Coverage for hospital and clinic from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. plus night call on the following days: - January 6 - 10 - January 13 - 17 - February 3 - 7 - February 10 - 14 -End: After these dates, ongoing two (2) weeks per month. **Position Details** - Practice Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient - EMR Systems: Athena and Meditech - Patients Per Shift: 20 - Rounding: Assigned and unassigned patients - Beds in Department: 2 - Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours plus Call - Call Type: Beeper, with 30-minute response time, 10% call-back rate - Call Ratio: 1:1 - Phone Consults: 2-3 daily; Patients Seen: 1-2; Admissions: 1 **Facility Details** - Stroke Certified: Yes - Support Staff: 2 RNs, 1 MA, 1 PA/NP, 2 Office Staff - Nearest Airport: Tri-City Airport, Blountville, TN - Lodging Recommendations: Holiday Inn Express, Claypool Hill, VA **Requirements** - Board Certification: Not required, board eligible accepted - License: No license requirements needed in order to apply - Must have clean history - Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 30 days **Skills Required** - Upper GI endoscopy, biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeding control, varices injection, and PEG - Esophageal dilatation, manometry, and small bowel biopsy - Lower GI procedures: flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy/polyp removal **Additional skills:** - Liver biopsy, esophageal manometry interpretation, and preferred EUS
