**Locums Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology - Claypool Hill, VA** **Coverage Need** - Assignment Dates: - Ongoing: Two weeks per month - Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call **Position Details** - Practice Setting: Inpatient and outpatient - EMR System: Athena & Meditech - Call Details: - Type: Beeper - Response Time: 30 minutes - Call Ratio: 1:1 - Call Back %: 10% - Phone Consults: 2-3 per call period - Patients Seen: 1-2 - Admissions: 1 - Rounding: Assigned and unassigned patients - Patient Volume: 20 per shift - Beds in Department: 2 - Support Staff: - RNs: 2 - MAs: 1 - PA/NPs: 1 - Office Staff: 2 - Skills Required: - Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices - PEG insertion - Esophageal dilation/manometry - Small bowel biopsy - Lower GI endoscopy including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision - Liver biopsy **Submissions Requirements** - Minimum Board Certification: Eligible - Active state license: Not required at the time of submission - Clean history required **Skill Requirements** - Proficiency in required gastroenterology procedures - Supervision of Advanced Practice Providers required
