Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505 Type of Facility: Hospital
Performs instrument processing activities, decontamination, assembly, sterilization (steam and plasma) and restocking of instruments to remote locations to insure availability to areas providing direct patient care. Ensures that personal performance and service quality levels meet or exceed customer expectations and perceptions.
Requirements
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Completion of medical terminology after hire.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Working to obtain national certification encouraged.
SKILLS: Operation of ultrasonic washer, steam autoclave, washer-sterilizer and washer-decontaminator preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Instrument processing experience preferred.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: Manager Surgical Services
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen - C
Constant exposure to bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, steam, sharp punctures and stress.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy lifting required, bending, pushing supply and instrument carts, standing for extended periods.
