Summary:
Continually monitors the EKG waveform displays in a centralized telemetry monitoring station. Documents changes in rhythm and reports these changes according to established protocol. Requires thorough knowledge of arrhythmia recognition.
The Monitor Tech is responsible for constant electro-Cardiographic monitoring with rapid, accurate notification of questionable patterns, and provides accurate documentation of information obtained from the cardiac monitoring equipment. The Monitor Tech is also responsible for assuring equipment and supplies are available and ready for use.
Located just minutes from the shores of Padre Island, CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South provides surgical and medical services for our patients in south Corpus Christi. Perfectly positioned to serve the rapidly-growing south side of Corpus Christi, CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - South is licensed for 158 beds. South offers a full range of medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency, intensive care as well as advanced diagnostic and imaging. The hospital is also home to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which enables recovering mothers to remain close to their premature or special needs babies.
Requirements:
Education/Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills
Experience
- EKG/arrhythmia interpretation background desired
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- EKG within 90 days of hire/transfer date
