Locums Neurosurgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
We are
seeking a skilled and experienced Neurosurgery Physician Assistant or Nurse
Practitioner for a locum tenens position in Hackensack, NJ. This role requires
a balanced combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, offering
critical support for neurosurgical care in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. The
ideal candidate will have at least two years of trauma and surgical assist
experience, with a strong preference for prior neurosurgery exposure.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing neurosurgical care split
evenly between inpatient and outpatient settings. Three days per week will be
spent in the outpatient clinic, where you’ll assist with screenings, perform
initial consults, and manage patient care. Additionally, you will support
between 4-8 neurosurgical cases each week, offering surgical assistance as
required. The role also involves rounding on post-surgical patients,
coordinating ongoing care, and ensuring optimal recovery. Occasional call may
be required, with flexibility based on the provider’s needs, and
responsibilities will be split between Palisades Medical Center (PMC) and
Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), requiring privileges at both
locations.
Requirements:
- Active CDS and
DEA registrations
- Minimum of 2
years' experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, with
preferred experience in neurosurgery
- Trauma and
surgical assist experience required
- Board
certification as a PA or NP, with licensure in New Jersey
