Medical Assistant Student
Seeking a Medical Assistant Student
who under the direction of the Provider, Medical Support Staff Supervisor
(MSSS), or designee, the Medical Assistant Student plays a crucial role in
providing patient care and excellent customer service within the scope of
practice for Medical Assistant Students.
In this role, key responsibilities
include assessing patient healthcare needs and addressing any service gaps
while following age-specific protocols. Preparing for appointments, updating
patient records, and documenting the chief complaint and vital signs in the
electronic health record are essential tasks. The provider will prepare the
exam room and assist during medical procedures, provide patient education, and
handle post-visit instructions.
Administrative duties include managing
documentation, handling patient calls, maintaining examination rooms, and
processing referrals for specialized care. The provider will act as a liaison
with other healthcare providers and maintain HIPAA-compliant patient
confidentiality. Infection control policies must be followed, along with proper
immunization handling, laboratory testing, and ensuring equipment
functionality. Willingness to travel to different locations as needed is also
required.
Required Minimum Qualifications -
Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proof of current enrollment and successful completion of the
first semester of a Medical Assistant Program at an accredited college.
- Proof of completion of 180 externship hours.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
- Valid Fingerprint clearance card required.
- Driver's License and Proof of Insurance may be required if requesting mileage reimbursement.
