• Maintains required core competencies.
• Complies with set Policies and Procedures (i.e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking, etc.)
• Maintains BLS, ACLS and PALS classification.
• Serves on selected committees as needed for the process of establishing policy and procedures to reflect current standards of care.
• Assists in the planning, development, and maintenance of a Nursing Services Orientation and Competency Program.
• Participates in presentation of the Operating Room Nursing orientation program, including PERIOP 101 etc.
• Makes self-available to nursing staff when on duty.
• Provides feedback to departmental managers on individual staff member’s performance as requested and available. If individual needs of staff member identified, documents and refers in timely manner to department manager.
• Participates in the organization’s CEARP accreditation.
• Attends education related meetings.
• Uses sick time appropriately.
• Participates in community health fair and education.
• Participates in the education committee and attends meeting quarterly.
• Incorporates the roles of facilitator, change agent consultant, and leader in learning activities that support the nurse in developing and maintaining continuing professional nursing competence.
• Assist learners to identify both their learning needs and effective learning activities required to meet those needs.
• Assist individuals and groups in defining problems, identifying available internal and external educational resources and selecting educational options.
• Integrates relevant research outcomes into nursing professional developmental and organizational goals.
• Demonstrate leadership by maintaining educational or clinical competencies appropriate to role, reflecting own professional growth and development.
