Summary:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance of the grounds. Displays independent initiative and judgment in determining operation of equipment, making repairs and meeting emergency situations. Supervises and coordinates groundskeepers. Responsible for designing, planting and maintenance of landscaped areas
Responsibilities:
- Manages and leads the overall operation of the Grounds Department for all Hospital Facility's
- Responsible for selecting, hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and leading all employees on the Grounds Crew
- Develops and maintains a written schedule for grass cutting, edging, walk sweeping, external elevator cleaning, outside trash Management, and blowing all walks
- Supervises the cleaning of all parking garages, power washing of all walks and garages, cleaning of all surface parking lots, and Maintaining all entrances and external door ways
- Establishes a planting schedule for all seasonal flowers, assist with the selection of all flowers and oversees the bed preparation
- Negotiates and manages the outside contract for additional grounds services
- Also, measures the effectiveness of this service
- Manages the irrigation schedule and the maintenance on all sprinkler systems
- Oversees the pruning of all bushes and trees
- Also, manages any of this type work performed by an outside contractor
- Insures that all flags are in excellent conditions
- Responsible for managing the flags for any special events
Requirements:
- 5 years' experience in Groundskeeping, Landscaping, and/or Horticulture
- 3 years' experience in a supervisory role required.
- Preferred Associate's degree in Landscape Management, Landscape Design, Groundskeeping or other similar industry.
- Preferred a certificate from a program like the PGMS® School of Grounds Management (SGM).
