Our Wound Care Center is seeking a nurse practitioner to join the team. This is a FULL TIME employment position through CHRISTUS St. Vincent Medical Group. Position hours are Monday -- Friday; 8hrs/day. Clinic hours of operation are 8A-5P Monday-Friday. You will enjoy working with a highly skilled and professional team committed to providing exceptional, personalized care to our patients and community. Our full-service and advanced wound care center addresses underlying medical issues that may delay healing by: using advanced wound dressings, help control bacteria growth, provide and coordinate vascular, diagnostic and interventional procedures, provide advanced compression wraps to control edema, and use hyperbaric oxygen therapy to facilitate healing in certain types of wounds. Our objective is complete and sustained healing using evidence-based, clinically proven treatment guidelines.
The Nurse Practitioner will:
- Gather medical history and physical data on patients
- Perform a complete physical exam, interpret and integrate patient data to determine appropriate diagnostic & therapeutic plans and procedures, and record findings
- Consult with other caregivers to coordinate patient care
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostics
- Administer injections, immunizations and oral medications
- Procedures performed may include: sharp debridement of wounds, application of skin grafts/substitutes.
- Prepare written prescription orders for medication & controlled substances
- Advise patients regarding wound care, health practices and illness prevention
