The Medical Director plays a vital role in fostering a compassionate, patient-centered environment where healing and recovery thrive.

With a deep commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and whole-person care, the Medical Director brings a holistic perspective that honors the essential role of family, culture, and support systems in each individual’s recovery journey.


In this impactful leadership role, the Medical Director collaborates with Division leadership to drive quality and clinical improvements that elevate the standard of care across programs.

This position is pivotal in steering risk management and accreditation efforts, ensuring the division's highest quality assurance standards.

The Medical Director also provides expert consultation to treatment teams, reviews key admission decisions, and offers direct psychiatric care—including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)—to participants in both outpatient and residential settings, supporting each client within our client’s comprehensive continuum of care. 

Required experience:  

  • Licensed Medical Provider in Alaska, or ability to obtain
  • Experience in psychiatric prescribing and the provision of mental health services
  • Documented experience providing specialty addiction treatment. 
  • Administrative management and/or clinical supervisory experience in behavioral health and/or residential and outpatient substance use treatment settings, including duties related to program planning and evaluation
  • Obtain Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) approval within three (3) years of the Provisional Provider Application approval date with the State of Alaska.

Preferred: 

  • Board certified in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry.
