Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the staff is completing the entire referral process beginning with physician’s orders and that the authorizations for procedures, office visits, high tech imaging and prescriptions are completed in a timely manner. The lead must maintain knowledge of insurance policy guidelines and communicating any changes to clinicians and staff. They are to make sure the patients are scheduled timely and without delay. Must be up to date on all CPT and ICD 10 codes to process referral properly. The lead will also be responsible for time keeping and training of staff.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures staff is qualified, trained, and motivated. Coaches and counsels as needed.
- Ensures evaluations are done timely, time and attendance are maintained in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conducts regular team meetings and ensures communication is positive.
- Staff works referral/authorization visits, procedures, and prescription requests in a timely manner. Works with staff to remove barriers to production.
- Customer inquiries are responded to accurately, and thoroughly in a timely manner,
- Reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Uses initiative to identify and resolve problems.
- Keeps abreast of changes in payers
- Develops, writes, and communicates as needed by keeping boss, staff and peers informed.
