Summary:
This Job is responsible for orienting and training, evaluating, and scheduling pharmacy technicians as well as coordinating workflow and assuring the quality of pharmacy operations in collaboration with the pharmacist supervisors and managers.
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Maintains consistency with Administrative and Departmental policies with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability
- Participates in training of new associates in all areas related to the dispensing technologies pharmacy operating system and processing third party insurance claims
- Coordinates the maintenance of unit-based dispensing user access and request/education documentation
- Performs outpatient distributive functions related to entering prescriptions orders, selecting the correct medications for new and refilled prescription orders, and coordinates delivery of medications for patient pick-up or delivery
- Advanced knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures to ensure that areas are clean, medications are in date, and proper inventory levels are maintained with formulary or contract approved drugs
- Cross trained in the areas of Pharmacy Buyer and capable of performing these duties when necessary
- Performs Quality Assurance duties related to the quality of work produced by the Retail pharmacy associates
- Such activities include, but are not limited to the following: monitoring adverse drug events, maintain inventory par levels, POS cash management, competencies of the Certified Pharmacy Technician staff, and Customer service
- Serves as a leader in the Retail Pharmacy offering suggestions for the improving the efficiency of the area, training new personnel, and promoting a positive attitude to work and respect for co-workers
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
High School Diploma required
Experience
- 4 – 6 years of technical experience
0 – 2 years of Leadership/ Management experience
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- CPHT NATL required
