Summary:
Under the supervision of the Manager or Director of Cancer Treatment Center, the Program Manager Tumor Registrar maintains the Tumor Registry for the accredited Cancer Program at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Identifies, registers, processes and maintains records of all cancer patients in accordance with the American College of Surgeons protocol. Analyzes registry data and disseminates information to appropriate sources. Schedules and functions as recording secretary for the Cancer Committee and the Tumor Conference meetings held at the facility. Responsible for ensuring American College of Surgeon standards are met to maintain accreditation for the program. Maintains all data necessary to support accreditation. Serves as editor for the Annual Cancer Program Report.
Requirements:
- Training as a Tumor Registrar in a certified program preferred. Associate or college degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a Tumor Registry preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-O, DRG and AJCC.
- Certified Tumor Registrar preferred.
