POSITION SUMMARY: To provide medical massage as a team member of CSVRMC Holistic Health & Wellness through the delivery of appropriate, ethical, competent, and evidence based massage therapy services. This position develops and promotes wellness opportunities (on an individual, as well as group program basis) for patients and CSV employees, and collaborates with all other departments’ health-system wide, all according to safe practice. This position participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings at Holistic Health & Wellness.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a Nationally Certified Massage Program which includes at least 850 hours of hands on training.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Licensed as a Massage Therapist in the State of New Mexico.
SKILLS:
- Skillful in multiple Massage Techniques (Medical, Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, neuromuscular, reflexology) with the ability to tailor treatments based on a variety of medical conditions presented by patients with comorbidities
- Specialized training in oncology massage preferred with the ability to assess and treat a diverse cancer patient population
- Effective communication skills and physical assessment skills required
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary medical team, and recognize the strengths and limitations of massage therapy as a complimentary treatment modality
- Needs to be able to read and write English.
EXPERIENCE: One year of full time massage experience required with clinical experience in medical massage preferred.

Requires knowledge and practice of safety standards regarding massage therapy and communicable disease.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, standing, stooping, walking for at least an eight hour shift. Heavy lifting (greater than 75 lbs.) may be required. Ability to have good manual dexterity and be able to give massage therapy for one half hour to one and one half hour treatments.
