Responsibilities
Join the premier neonatal practice in Houston, Texas!
Pediatrix Neonatology of Houston, an affiliate of Pediatrix Medical Group, seeks outstanding NNPs to join our growing practice. Our established neonatal practice includes over 50 neonatologists and over 100 APRNs and serves 15 hospitals across four leading hospital systems throughout Houston and the surrounding area.
- We welcome new graduates and provide a comprehensive new graduate orientation program.
- NNPs in our practice typically provide 24-hour in-house coverage. However, some of our sites offer 12-72 hour shifts to support work-life balance.
- Each NNP has a home hospital and is part of a core team but must be willing to occasionally rotate through at least one additional hospital within the practice.
- NNPs and neonatologists work collaboratively in providing comprehensive neonatal care from the delivery room through discharge at multiple Level II and III NICUs, including several tertiary high-risk delivery hospitals and one Level IV hospital (The Woman’s Hospital of Texas).
- NNPs are an active part of all aspects of caring for the full range of complex neonatal diagnoses. Our ECMO, therapeutic hypothermia, BPD/micro-preemie programs, and a full range of ventilation therapies, including HFOV and HFJV, provide an excellent opportunity for professional growth for both experienced practitioners and new graduates. Our NNPs are also a part of an NNP-led air and ground transport team. Transport duties are not required.
- A full complement of pediatric subspecialists supports our practice, including pediatric surgery, cardiology, hematology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, urology, and nephrology. Additionally, our robust high-risk perinatal navigation program and multiple MFM practices provide support and continuity of care for high-risk mothers and their infants.
- NNPs are supported by a strong, NNP-led Leadership team
- Our NNPs are actively involved in research, collaborative quality improvement activities, and developing and implementing new protocols.
- The practice participates in the VON network, and our active research program is involved in multiple active clinical trials and multi-site collaborations, including The Tiny Baby Collaborative.
