Summary:
The Coordinator Rehabilitation Clinic has the responsibility to monitor the day-to-day operations in a Rehab Therapy Center in terms of organizing, scheduling, and evaluating the daily activities of occupational, physical, and speech therapy disciplines. Responsibilities shall also include staff & student orientation, training, competency checks, and implementation of clinical care paths. The Coordinator Rehabilitation Clinics shall act as the liaison between discipline and administrative support staff, assist leadership with performance improvement activities, provide clinical guidance and mentorship, and participate in program development. The Coordinator Rehabilitation Clinic shall assume management duties in the absence of the Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Serves as an advocate for patients/families, assuring that patient/family rights are respected, and patient satisfaction issues are addressed.
- Coordinates patient care in compliance with regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and state licensure requirements.
- Participates in the communication and implementation of the Clinic and organizational policies and procedures.
- Communicates and assists with updating of clinic standards, protocols, and policies and procedures as needed.
- Assists Rehab Director with the orientation of Clinic Associates.
- May address and resolves conflicts involving staff, physicians, and patients/families issues.
- Assists Rehab Center Director with coordination and ensuring staff participation in process improvement activities of the Clinics.
- Establishes and enforces with staff a method of ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Clinic supplies and equipment.
- Collaborates effectively with therapists, physicians, administrators, patients, families, other departments, and the community to provide quality patient care and enhance patient outcomes.
- May review or assist with (at the discretion of the Rehab Director/Manager) the bi-weekly payroll function for the department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
- Assists the Rehab Director with maintaining core staffing for both patient care and non-patient care staff.
- Assists with staff scheduling to ensure productivity for all rehab associates in the Clinic.
- Maintains and reports therapists' appointment schedules Interacts with the Admitting Department, Business Office, HIM Department, and Patient Finance Department.
- Completes the admission process and scheduling of all referrals to the Clinic.
- Reviews and sorts incoming correspondence pertaining to the Rehab Clinic.
- Performs clerical duties such as faxing, copying, and mailing.
- Handles minor equipment maintenance or reports problems as needed.
- Maintains and manages medical records.
- Ensures proper storage of records.
- Demonstrates responsible money handling.
- Ensures co-payments due are collected at the time of service.
- Reconciles rehab desk cash and submits cash and reconciliation reports to the Business Office.
- Demonstrates and maintains a working knowledge of customer service principles and departmental expectations regarding customer service and uses AIDET with all interactions with patients and fellow Associates.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
- 3 years of experience in a medical professional setting preferred. • Demonstration of leadership skills (decision-making, problem-solving, delegation, prioritization) and/or previous supervisory experience highly preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Current BLS preferred.
