Medical Assistant, Immunization Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant, Immunization Specialist to manage immunization programs at the assigned health center. This role is critical in ensuring patient vaccine data is accurately maintained, immunization compliance is upheld, and adherence to VFA/VFC guidelines is achieved. The Immunization Specialist will also play a key role in developing policies and procedures related to immunization practices.

The Immunization Specialist is responsible for managing patient vaccine data by maintaining accurate records in the Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS) and Electronic Health Records (EHR). This role involves preparing immunization information before patient visits, administering and storing vaccines according to VFA/VFC guidelines, and ensuring compliance with infection control policies. The Specialist oversees vaccine inventory, conducts audits, generates patient reports, and contacts patients to ensure immunization compliance. Additional duties include developing immunization-related policies, supporting providers with clinical tasks as needed, and completing annual training and competencies related to the vaccine program. This role requires flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Required Minimum Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Diploma or United States Armed Forces medical service training program required.
- Certified EKG Technician Certification required within 6 months of hire date.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certification required within 6 months of hire date.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
- 2 years of experience working in a clinical setting required.
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
- Driver's License and Proof of Insurance may be required if requesting mileage reimbursement.
- LPN Nursing Degree preferred.
