**Pediatrics - Medical Genetics Opportunity in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania** **Coverage** - Start: ASAP - End: Ongoing - Schedule: Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday-Friday) - Call Coverage: Beeper call with 30-minute response time. **Position Details** - Practice Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient. - Patient Load: Up to 8 patients daily. - Rounding: Not specified. - Support Staff: 2 MAs, 2 office staff. - Teaching/Supervision: Required for residents or fellows. - EMR System: Epic. **Responsibilities** - Conduct genetic testing and interpret laboratory results. - Provide accurate patient diagnoses and maintain detailed records. - Communicate findings effectively with the care team. - Assist in patient counseling and ensure high standards of care. **Skills and Procedures** - Ventilation management (newborn and pediatric). - Intubation (ETT/NT). - Conscious and deep sedation. - Central and arterial line placement. - Lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion. - Interpretation of X-rays and EKGs. **Facility Details** - Trauma Level: Level 1. - Beds in Department: 1. - Call Volume: - Consults: ~0.5/day. - Admissions: ~0.5/day. **Requirements** - Certifications: Board Certified in Pediatrics or Medical Genetics. BLS and PALS required. - License: no license requirements in order to apply (Pennsylvania license will need to be obtained in order to start) - Credentialing: 30-90 days.
