**Locums OB-GYN Hospitalist - Springfield, MO** **Coverage Details** - Start Date: March 3, 2025 - End Date: Ongoing - Coverage Type: No Call - Shift Schedule: - Weekdays/Weeknights: Mix of 12- and 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) - Weekends: - 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM - 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM - Full-time: ~144 hours/month - Part-time: Flexible based on availability **Practice Setting** - Setting: Inpatient OB and GYN - Patients Per Shift: 9 (6 cases/day shift, 3 cases/night shift) - Admissions: Not required - Beds in Department: 12 LDR + 3 low intervention rooms (midwifery) - Trauma Level: 1 - EMR System: Epic **Skills & Procedures** - Low-risk and high-risk pregnancy: Required - FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE): Required - OB Ultrasounds: Required (Level I and II) - Routine Deliveries: Required (vaginal, low forceps, c-section decision-making) - Complicated Deliveries: Required (c-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs) - Repair of 3rd & 4th-degree lacerations: Required - Office/Minor Gynecology (e.g., IUD, cystoscopy): Required - Surgical Gynecology: Required (laparoscopic and open surgeries) **Duties** - Cover inpatient OB and GYN consults on the floor and ER - Collaborate with midwives for increased level of care cases - Participate in a mix of scheduled and unscheduled patient management **Requirements** - Board Certification: ABOG required - Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS - License: No specific license required - Credentialing Timeframe: ~90 days **Support Staff** - RNs: Days (7-9 floor nurses, 1 charge, 2 triage); Nights (5-6 floor nurses, 1 charge, 2 triage) - OB Assistants: Days (3), Nights (2) - Surgical Technicians: Days (3), Nights (2) - Midwives: 4 **Additional Notes** - Shifts include inpatient OB and GYN only (no clinic coverage) - Double shifts (16 hours) can be accommodated but not scheduled as 24-hour shifts - Full-time and part-time candidates needed with weekday and some weekend availability
