**Locums - Gastroenterology - Marshfield, Wisconsin** **Coverage Need** - Assignment Dates: ASAP - Ongoing - 3 wks/mo w/1-2 weeknights of Call - Rate: Negotiable (Tell us your rate) **Position Details** - Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call - Practice Settings: Inpatient, Outpatient - Admissions required: Yes - Call Details: - Call Type: Beeper - Call Response Time Required: 15 minutes - Call Ratio: 1:3 - Typical Schedule: Outpatient procedures (colonoscopies, EGDs) Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM - Procedures per day: 13-14 - Support Staff: GI Techs, RNs, 3 RNs, 4 MAs, 8 PAs/NPs, 6 office staff - Conscious sedation required (no Anesthesia support in GI unit) **Submission Requirements** - No state licensure restriction, IMLC accepted - Board Eligible - Clean history - ACLS, BLS **Skill Requirements** - Specialty Skills: - Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices: Required - Esophageal dilatation/manometry and manometry interpretation: Required - Small bowel biopsy: Required - Lower GI endoscopy and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision: Required **Additional Details** In need of 3 weeks of locum coverage per month - two weeks inpatient and one week outpatient. Inpatient hours are 8am-5pm with weeknight call. Outpatient hours are Mon.-Fri., 8am-5pm with 1-2 weeknights of call. Potential for occasional weekend call coverage, but will typically just be weeknights. Locum can expect to perform 13-14 outpatient procedures per day. Locum must be able to administer conscious sedation for outpatient work, as there is no Anesthesia support in the GI unit. GI Techs and RNs support the physicians during procedures.
