Medical Assistant - Pediatrics

Location: Spokane, WA
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time (depending on schedule)
Expected Hours: Maximum Hours per Week: 40. North Office Hours: 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Valley Office Hours: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Schedule Options:
- 4-hour shift
- 8-hour shift
- 10-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends: 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Compensation: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour (dependent on licensure: CMA vs. RMA, and experience).
Clinical Duties:
- Assist pediatricians during patient examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for analysis.
- Educate patients and parents about procedures, treatments, and aftercare.
- Provide comfort and support to children during visits.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Handle phone inquiries from patients and parents in a professional manner.
- Verify insurance information and process payments.
- Send appointment and medication refill reminders.
Special Duties:
- Sterilize medical instruments and ensure examination rooms are clean and sanitized.
- Assist with special procedures such as circumcisions and point-of-care testing.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate attitude, especially toward children and families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and multitask in a busy environment.
- Previous experience in pediatrics is a plus.
