Job Description
We are seeking an experienced remote Clinical Pharmacist for Arizona City, AZ to manage pharmaceutical selection and utilization while supporting core clinical programs such as Drug Utilization Review, Drug Information Services, and formulary management. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance, contribute to clinical program success, and ensure compliance with medical necessity criteria and regulatory guidelines.
Compensation & Benefits: $106,400 - $159,600, plus excellent benefits package
Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This is a work from home position supporting regions in several states/areas.
- Research and synthesize detailed clinical data related to pharmaceuticals.
- Gap closure, medication adherence, part B reviews.
- Prepare and present therapeutic class reviews and drug monographs to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- Review and approve or deny pharmaceutical coverage based on medical necessity criteria, coordinating with internal stakeholders or health plan medical directors as needed.
- Serve as a clinical resource to other pharmacists for areas such as prospective, inpatient, and retrospective DURs, providing dosage conversion and therapeutic intervention support.
- Prepare detailed information for network physicians regarding pharmaceutical therapies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BA/BS); PharmD preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of managed care pharmacy (PBM) experience or completion of a pharmacy residency program in lieu of work experience.
- Active and unrestricted state license to practice pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in Arizona.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, facilitation skills, and analytical skills are essential.
- Experience with NextGen or Athena is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Multi-state licensure is a plus.
- Must comply with state and federal laws or program contracts when conducting utilization review or appeals considerations.
- For URAC-accredited areas, associates must meet professional competency requirements, including adherence to regulatory guidelines.
- Must reside within the United States (excluding US military bases, vessels, or embassies unless command-sanctioned activities).
