Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. This position requires a healthcare professional with expert knowledge and skills in infection prevention and control, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and the operational management of infection control programs.

In this role, you will develop, implement, and oversee strategic infection prevention and control initiatives while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. You will manage the daily operations of the Infection Control Program, focusing on surveillance, education, and policy development. Additionally, you will lead and coordinate performance improvement initiatives, including hand hygiene compliance, prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) such as central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), and catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI). You will also oversee multi-drug resistant organism (MDRO) prevention programs and surgical care improvement projects.

A key responsibility of this position involves analyzing and trending data related to infection control performance metrics. You will also serve as an expert consultant, providing education and guidance to multidisciplinary healthcare teams on infection prevention practices and policies.

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or a Health Science-related discipline.

·         Graduate degree in Medicine, Master of Public Health (MPH), or Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.

·         Minimum of two (2) years of experience working within a healthcare system, with a focus on infection prevention and control.
