Locums Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM or AOBEM only) to provide locums coverage in Vero Beach, Florida. This is an urgent need for a dynamic, high-volume emergency department that values quality patient care and collaborative teamwork.

This position offers a variety of shift options, including 6 AM–6 PM, 7 AM–7 PM, 10 AM–10 PM, 1 PM–1 AM, 5 PM–5 AM, and 7 PM–7 AM. Weekend coverage is required, but there are no on-call responsibilities. Physicians will work a mix of day and night shifts, allowing for flexible scheduling opportunities.

The Emergency Department sees approximately 60,000 patient visits annually and features 42 beds. Daily coverage includes 80 hours of physician support, complemented by 36 hours of APP coverage. The facility uses McKesson for its EMR system and has an admission rate of 23%. This location is also a Certified Stroke Center and Heart Center.

 

Requirements:

 

• Active Florida medical license.
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
• Current ACLS certification.
• Active DEA registration.
