Locums General Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Locums General Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in York, PA. This position requires a skilled and dedicated advanced practice provider to assist in delivering high-quality care to surgical patients.

As a Locums General Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing floor care of surgical patients, which includes performing daily rounds, placing orders, writing progress notes, and collaborating with attendings and nursing staff to ensure effective care planning. You will also manage patient discharges, providing necessary instructions, summaries, and orders. Additionally, you will perform daily bedside procedures such as dressing changes and removal of drains or nasogastric tubes (NGTs). In the emergency department, you will conduct consults and evaluations for patients admitted to other services, performing comprehensive physical exams and assessments, coordinating with the on-call attending regarding surgical plans, and ensuring all documentation and orders are completed accurately. In the operating room, you will serve as a first assistant in various general surgery cases, including open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures, while also providing pre-operative and post-operative care to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

 

Schedule:

 

• Friday: 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Saturday-Sunday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Rounding from approximately 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

 

Requirements:

 

• Credentials: NP or PA
• Licensure: Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania state license
• Certifications: Current BLS and CPR
