Locums Neuroendovascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Locums Neuroendovascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a team of dedicated healthcare professionals at a premier Level 1 Trauma Center in Detroit, Michigan. This role involves inpatient care on night shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., requiring in-house coverage to provide consistent support for neuroendovascular and neurosurgical patients. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a hospital that emphasizes comprehensive stroke care and advanced neurosurgical treatments.  The provider will deliver exceptional inpatient care, including rounding, consults, and postoperative management, for neuroendovascular surgery patients in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include collaborating with the neurosurgery team to manage cases involving acute neurosurgical and stroke emergencies, ICU care, and elective neurosurgical procedures. The role also involves performing patient assessments, ensuring continuity of care, and documenting interactions using the eCare/Cerner EMR system. Working night shifts with one weekend shift every fourth week, this position offers a steady schedule without on-call requirements. The average caseload is approximately 10 patients per shift, creating an engaging and manageable environment for the provider.

 

Requirements:

 

• Board Certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
• Active Michigan License
• Proficiency in managing acute neurosurgical and stroke cases, as well as experience with ICU care
• Familiarity with eCare/Cerner EMR system
