Psychiatry Faculty Opportunity at TGH Behavioral Health Hospital

Lifepoint Health, in collaboration with USF Health and Tampa General Hospital, is seeking a dedicated Adult Psychiatrist to join our medical staff at the new Tampa General Behavioral Health Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to be part of Florida’s first and only freestanding academic medical behavioral health hospital, located in Tampa’s Medical and Research District.

As a core faculty member employed by USF Health, you will provide high-quality inpatient psychiatric care to adult and geriatric patients while contributing to the education and training of medical students and residents. This role allows you to work in a state-of-the-art facility, collaborate with leading healthcare professionals, and address the growing need for behavioral health services in Tampa Bay.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide evidence-based psychiatric care to adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient setting.
• Serve as a core faculty member, mentoring USF Health medical students and residents.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Maintain credentialing with USF Health and Tampa General Hospital.
• Contribute to research and innovation in behavioral health care.

Position Qualifications:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited general psychiatry residency program.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.
• Must obtain and maintain credentialing with USF Health and Tampa General Hospital.

Tampa General Behavioral Health Hospital is a four-story, 83,000-square-foot facility with 96 to 120 inpatient beds and specialized units for pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
